Impact of COVID-19 lockdown on various stakeholders associated with dairyfood supply chain in Karnataka, India- An evidence based study

The present study assessed the disruptions in dairy food supply chain and associated stakeholders due to COVID-19 second-highest milk-producing state Karnataka, India. A cross-sectional survey using a multistage random sampling procedure was conducted data collected from results revealed that milk providers co-operatives increased by 4.67 % quantity of collection 25.15 during lockdown. On service front, 41.3% cooperative societies faced animal feed shortages. average per day consumption 42.7 lockdown mainly driven return family members cities villages. However, gross income realized through sales farmers decreased period reduced prices offered co-operatives. sale products vendors declined 5.11% fall demand for various products. Despite many problems sector lockdown, it acted as buffer protected free market capitalist breakdown Karnataka.
